The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics is a living memorial to Oregon's former U.S. senator. Housed at the School of Law at the University of Oregon, the Center brings scholars and activists to Oregon to discuss critical topics in law and politics, in the tradition of Senator Morse. We are dedic ated to Morse’s vision of peace and justice through law and politics.
The center adopts a theme of inquiry for two-year periods and conducts activities through several programs.
The theme of inquiry for 2011-13 is Capitalism and the Common Good.

“I have
complete
faith in the ability
of the American people to follow the
facts if you'll give them, and my charge against my government is
we're not giving
the American people the facts.”
— May 24, 1964 (Two months before the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution passed through Congress)
